A wine that I've loved repeatedly throughout 2014 with numerous friends. Always delivers the goods

Flawed bottle. Not necessarily corked but something was just off.

This 2005 is just entering a phase of real pleasure. The nose is packed with fruit tones of mandarin orange, Anjou pear, quince and Meyer lemon peel with a delightful waxy hints and loads of minerality. Palate displays typical richness of the vintage with a viscous mouthfeel that is reigned in with mineral accents. Superb notes of satsuma, pear, Fuji apple mingle with baking spice flavors. The long finish is dense and packed. Certainly will benefit with at least 5 more years in bottle. Double decanted at at 2PM served 6 hours later.

Good but disappointing. The vintage wasn't spectacular. And for the price...
