Jun 19th, 2026A rock star of a wine. Just stunning. Nose is all red and black cherries and just so layered and hedonistic. 2022 is soooo good right now. Juicy and dense with serious structure and unreal black cherry fruit tempered by such fierce minerality. But it’s all so elegant. Insane freshness and purity. This is young but the explosiveness, concentration and tiny berry fruit intensity are top notch here. I know my score will rise. Insanely long finish. All class.

Jan 28th, 2026Huge red and sour cherries, tweed jacket earthiness, purple fruit, earth and leather, loam and mineral. Lipstick like intensity. Chinato like complexity, anise, gorgeous acidity and supple. Juicy and so generous and slippery fruit. Gorgeous density and purity. Acid is adequate and so supple. Inner mouth aromas, this has warm vintage fruit character but tension from an early pick maybe? Dark cherry, and anise on the finish. Tannins are velvet and sweet and ripe. After 7 hours open this wine is just a stunner. Nose is a bit of dark cherry, some discreet wood, wild berries and more. Palate is ethereal and dense but also nimble and so fresh. Unreal velvety tannins and so sweet. 9.6 Nose is so damson on day 2. Stunning cherry clarity and depth. Juicy, silky and sweet. Dark fruits and energy.

Apr 12th, 2025Brilliant nose. Gorgeous mid season cherries with amazing clarity. Ethereal and also some cherry flower. Just the essence of cherries. Remarkable 21 aromatics here. Man, I adore this vintage. Lush and structured palate with tangy mid season cherries, a micro hit of opulence and some velvety, sweet yet substantial tannins. This has structure to burn and will need air but man is this a sexy, juicy Volnay. As this airs the nose gets malted milk balls. Unreal depth. Sickness. As this airs out it gets more focused and the fruit becomes extraordinary. 9.5 to 9.6.

Mar 23rd, 2024Stunning nose. Super aromatic, complex and spicey with a subtle herbal edge that is so so pretty. My goodness this is so pretty. Perfumed. Mashed violets and some wet earth. Insane sweetness on the attack followed by great acidity and freshness and some big tannins. This is more large scaled and structured than the Mitants. Terrific length and a sense of seriousness. Very deep and very young. This has exquisite fruit (mostly dark red cherries and black cherries) but the structure is dominant now. I’ll be back as this airs. With some brief aeration we’ve got stunning rose petals now. Dark red roses. Sweet late season red cherries as well. Super impressive inner mouth aromas and super explosive. Wow.
