Thankful for generous friends. '13 Echezeaux is a super pretty example of Burgundy. Still a baby. Needed a bunch of air to express itself. High toned, red fruited with earth and spice. Feel like this has some incredible days ahead of it. Would love to revisit in a few years.

A friend has been telling me to try the new Grivot so I decided to give it a try. I was surprised at how different it is from its previous reputation. Very beautiful nose with flowers, especially violets. Pure as well but not airy like the Fourrier. After a hour or so, the fruit is coupled by smokiness, while it developed an herbal tea aroma. Sweetness at the backend as well. Juicy on the palate with lively acidity and slight astringency. I think only the last part hinted to it's vintage. I do wonder how the styles by the new generation will hold up to the testament of time. Nevertheless, I will be buying some post 2010 JG!
