Vin d'Alsace Pinot Blanc

cannot find the changala alsace blend (pinot gris, pinot auxerrois) but genuinely delicious, energetic, a little hazy. super versatile with food - loved it w the first early june dishes (langoustine and lardo on panisse, oil cured haddock and daikon)

Medium-high sweetness, bright acidity. Good for the cold weather. Give it a bit and it gets even better.

Nick loved it but was a bit too cidery for my personal taste

Lots of volatility upon opening, but much better after being open about an hour.

I usually hate VA, but here I felt it makes a better wine and brings this into the third dimension. VA too often hides a clunky bottle of fermenting juice. Oh, and there is texture, too - beautiful texture. Then sour kumquats, bright apricots, briny lemons, and chamomile.

damn. effervescence & ripping acidity. almonds & honey.

Real real good. Nice acid. Good zip.

Lightning in a bottle.

Honeyed and rich little acid backbone.
