Medium bodied with notes of Chamomile, Meyer lemon followed by an unctuous mineral driven finish.

Sooooo delicious. I tend to lean toward the Huet with a little sweetness but this Sec is stupid fantastic. I bought several for aging.

Extremely well balanced and just plain delicious, as usual.

So love these wines. This guy could probably age another 20 years.

Great Chenin blanc. Sharp acidity, honey comb, beeswax, beautiful floral aromatics.

2014. Pure and silky. Restrained and elegant. Nuff said.

An amazing and versatile wine. Gorgeous tangerine, quince, and honeyed lemon. Perfect with coconut cake but so much vibrant acidity it would be great with many savory dishes as well. #cheninigans #huet #vouvray

Ridiculously awesome Chenin, first time trying a Huet wine and holy crap does it live up to the hype and then some. This is the glass on the left here. Pours a medium (-) gold hue. Ever-evolving in the glass; dense and concentrated yet bright and focused. Ripe, bruised green apple, Anjou pear, and nectarine, raw honey, an almost smoky crushed chalk character, beeswax and lanolin, and chamomile and acacia. Such pure clarity. Medium (-) to medium bodied with oily, rich texture. High acid, dry but not entirely bone dry. Incredible length, balance, and complexity. Absolutely enchanting Chenin. Managed to knock out three solid pairings with this, with Spoon and Stable's day boat scallop crudo, Spaghetti Nero, and Wild Nettle Gnocchi. Absolutely πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ with the scallops in particular. With more age on it, this would be near perfect Chenin, IMO.

To it's right is the equally awesome Huet Le Mont Moelleux. Can't remember vintage unfortunately; didn't catch that on the dessert menu. Definitely a more recent one though, still quite primary and would show even better with more age. Still though, also incredible. Quite similar in flavor to the Clos du Bourg sec but with a more honeyed character + some caramel-y, ginger spice from what I presume is botrytis, as well as a preserved apricot character. Also high acid, definitely quite sweet but not cloying in the slightest. Medium body with great glycerine texture from RS. Interesting to taste it alongside the Clos du Bourg Sec.
