3H Decant, this is really in a great spot today!

Boom to the dynamite. #saumur

Hmmm. I was a little disappointed because I had such high expectations. It's quite profound on the nose with reminders of clove, oak and blueberries. But on the palette it comes up short and is just more vegetal and not as juicy as I would have expected.

Iodine. Thin with some red fruits and minerality. Fine, but not too memorable.

Beauty

I truly believe that texture is what separates good wines from great wines. The texture creates the magic in your mouth and it seems to me that perfecting a wines texture is a skill that only the truly best winemakers have been able to capture. It's the elusive quality that really makes a wine world-class for me. I'm a big fan of Guiberteau. This wine was so polished and refined. Silky Cab Franc. It also had a wonderful "greeness," in a fully resolved, gorgeous bouquet of green herbs way and not in the harsh, under ripe, pyrizines way. Terrific.

Amazing silkiness for Saumur, Burgundy lovers Cab Franc

Slightly disappointing! Lots of green bell pepper, hard & tannic edges. Maybe it needed more time but not my favorite Loire CF.
