A lot has happened to this wine in one year. A year ago I had to decant it for 1 hr before it was approachable. Now it’s fantastic upon opening. Rich, structured, and profound.

Quite a bit more wooden and exceptionally denser than I remember this wine. I loved it, but think this Chenin needs time and has much to reveal behind the wood. Hide this away for 10 years. And, I wonder if there are multiple bottlings.

Hmm what do I say. Showed classic good signs like reduction acidity length. But honestly the winemaking hand was strong I found it a little offensive. 👋

Wicked nose. Tropical but layered with savoury spice, lemon, stones. The acidity drives this wine forward, but it swirls, through waves of citrus, peach, and judicious oak. This really benefited from air. After 30-45 mins a grippy, mineral structure revealed itself, balancing it out and sharpening its focus. The finish is outstanding. A real gem.
