Pop and poured at cellar temp and this was already showing an amazing mix of fresh provincial herbs, green olive, dried flowers, black pepper, charred meat and crushed blackberry. As it warmed in the glass, it gained richness and intensity. Like pure silk on the palate, yet lifted and fresh, showing black fruit, sage, violet Pop and poured at cellar temp and this was already showing an amazing mix of fresh provincial herbs, green olive, dried flowers, black pepper, charred meat and crushed blackberry. Oct 12th, 2015Somewhat reduced upon opening, but after it blows off this wine shoes its stuff. My friends' blind guesses were Burgundy and Côtes de Provence. Pretty fun for a biodynamic 100% Syrah from Collioure in granite soil.

May 4th, 2015Off bottle. It must have been. Had high hopes, muted, one note, very simplistic. Seemed like a lot of potential there. Wild fruit, olive, potpourri, mild brett. Palate thin, almost in an under-extracted way. Would like to revisit.

Dec 21st, 2020Really funky and barnyard-y out of the bottle, needed a little time to breathe. Lots of wild herbs and spicy notes, dry grass, then mint and violets. Chocolate undertones.

Jul 28th, 2019CVed 11/15/17. Beautiful after waiting a bit. Violets dark and black fruits and a hint of mint on nose. Great lively balance of acids minerals and black fruits on palate with long complex finish. What a buy Acker 8. More years to go as primaries still predominate but already yummy. Also have a 2013.
