Vaillons Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay

Grapefruit and some pine on the nose. Intriguing, almost riesling-like nose. Chalky, saltwater taffy and spring water. Drinking well now.

Impressive concentrated nose that is weightier than the rest. Dense citrus fruits - reminds me of very good Mâcon but no mistaking the palate for anything other than Chablis though. Bright acidity buoys the dense fruit driven flavors.

The most open and ready-drinking out of the 2013 1er crus in the lineup. Ripe lemon and chalk flavors. More fruity and acid-driven.

Wow. Last 2010. Rounded, creamy seashells. More please.

Minerals and butterscotch with a hint of desperation.

Fatter and rounder than expected, not a bad thing though. Very complex, great minerality, I wish I had more.
