Lithe, perfumed, graceful and yet ample in its delicious fruit and length. Unlike most wines made in the style, Gauby always manages to have this tannic framework and structure that is tense and fine boned yet yielding at just the right moment. Dried red cherry, crushed berries, blood orange, chaparral, wet leaves, black tea, potpourri, rose petal, candied apple, cinnamon, clove. Has some natural leanings but pleasantly so.

One of the most underrated wines of the Roussillon. Light and graceful style. Red raspberry, myrtle, garrigue. Great.

Done. Way past prime, barely drinkable at first. Chalky mouth feel, high acidity, left it opened over night, one point percentage better, but definitely kept it for too long.

Reduced, closed, even after an hour in decanter. Leaving 2nd half for this eve.

Day 2: Wow! Gorgeous with a lamb sirloin, Provencal preparation. Much more generous. Just a pleasure to drink.

First time with these wines jand won’t be last. One of better bottles over the past three months. Little brickish, but showed sour cherry, red fruit, tartness and had a rich finish. Got better over time and still alive the second day.

A real treat, and about 10-15 years from full maturity. Somewhere b/n Bdx, CdP and Burg. This will be great.

This is a serious wine. Fruit, structure, really balanced (only 12.5 alc) but major structure, like a top Bordeaux or Barolo, but under $100. Serious.

I'd rather be traveling France with Sondra but since I can't I'll eat and drink French in Sonoma!
