Replaced a badly corked 02 Dauvissat Clos with this. Medium gold color, heavy like oil in the glass. Immediately it shows off its Raveneau nose with notes of apricot, white clay, sea breeze, tan spice and river stone. Enjoyed over 5 hours after a 2 hour decant. Great juice!

Medium straw gold. Viscous and heavy. Awesome aged Raveneau nose from the start. Notes of honeyed tan spice, seashells, wet stone, apricot and some light tan dusty clay. Rich in the mouth. Acidity is in the background, even after 4 hours of air. A bit thin in the mid palate but I’m splitting hairs to find flaws. Great stuff.

2001: Not the expected Valmur richness from the start. Surprisingly tart, like biting into a granny smith apple. Lively, yet puzzling with each sip. Where was the lemon lime zip, giving way to a lemon custard vanilla tart? Not this bottle. Continued to develop slowly, yet the edge never fully mellowed. An outlier, that I now want to try again.

Boyz Raveneau tasting. Light straw color. Honeyed nose with light fruit. Soil and stone notes in the mouth to go with lovely Chablis fruit Tight at first but really opened up nicely.
