23 last night and 22 tonight. Gorgeous and man 22 is KINKY. This is such a seductive vintage. My favorite “warm” vintage ever. Nose is a punch in the face. Outrageous dark cherry and black cherry fruit. Like insane. So pure. So vivid. Just insane. Ridiculous. So dense. 9.7 nose. I said what I said. Gorgeous dustiness underneath it all. But my god the nose fruit purity is blowing my mind. Palate is LIGHTS OUT but needs air. Juicy and deep but dominated by tannins but the attack gives it teeth. Wow. Finish is clipped but I believe in this wine and it will deliver as 23 needed 3-6 hours and this will as well.

Aug 18th, 2025Such a pretty nose. Gorgeous elegant florals, lipstick like intensity and sour cherries and mid season cherries. Gorgeous purity and intensity but a bit closed on the finish but fresh and wonderful acids. Really clear fruit but this clearly needs air as did the Savigny Narbantons but that was more structure dominated and this is more acid - structure doninated. But the nose is singing like nothing else. Gorgeous velvety tannins that coat the cheeks and extraordinary concentration and depth. After many hours this got super opulent and was so seductive. Fresh and zippy combined with opulence.

Oct 31st, 2023Have not had this bottling since 17 in barrel. Gorgeous, focused nose of mid season cherries, dark cherries and black cherries. So well defined, vivid and clear. Buffet killed 2020. This really captures the 2020 fruit so perfectly. Nose also has terrific mineral tones and earth tones. Terrific palate. Incredible inner mouth aromas. Juicy and full of freshness, sour cherries, sweet red cherries and tons of acid. A burg lover’s dream. Sensational wine and wonderful to see what Buffet does outside of Volnay and Pommard. Awesome mineral wash on the finish. How is this a 9.5. But it is. Stunning wine and classical structure that invites a decade plus of aging. Will this go to a 9.6?
