As usual with this 1er cru at Buffet the nose is stunning. Mid season cherries, dust, minerals, flowers and smoke. Holding back some but what is there is so detailed and expressive. What a palate. Which now is ahead of the nose. Sleek and juicy with such a compactness to it. Like an orb. So elegant and lacey with top notch delicacy. Just so well balanced and classic. This is 21! Nose is now singing! So expressive. Layered and ebullient! Acid is so good and the energy is palpabale.

Apr 28th, 2024Glorious nose. Classic Pommard stoniness. Floral tones as well and dark black cherries. Gorgeous and fragrant. Cannot stop smelling. So classic. Gorgeous palate with top finesse and lovey sweet red cherry fruit and tremendous confectionery inner mouth aromas. Juicy and stoney tannins. After air the nose has strawberry and rhubarb. Really a 9.6 nose. It’s so spicey and floral and stoney. Gorgeously fruited and compact. Just a brilliant bottle. Velvety and sweet. So long. Such a nice contrast of decadent and cerebral. This is a wine that will benefit from age. It’s got a significant structure and classic Pommard tannins. But they are so sweet and the length is just boffo! What a wine.

Jun 28th, 2022What a nose. Buffett + Pommard + 2019 = 😁 Stunning aromas of pulverized stones. Mid season red cherry fruit. Unreal minerality. Terrific clarity and vividness. Palate is so elegant, ethereal yet substantial and complex. Decadent yet precise with terrific purity and sweetness. So fresh and so balanced. The balance on 19 Buffet’s is wonderful. Nose also has tree bark, wet earth and smoke. Cherry compote as well. Sweet sweet fruit and so slippery, sweet and silky. Good tannins that are perfectly ripe ensure a long life. Just outrageous. Really long finish. Such a nice balance between sweetness, earthiness and freshness. With a few hours of air this has picked up elegance and compactness. Great wine!

Oct 31st, 2021Wide open nose. Spice, minerals, hint of framing oak, mid season red cherries and sour cherries. Really fine and delicate aromas. Palate is lush, succulent and balanced but also holding back. On the elegant side of Pommard for sure. Really finessed on the palate with excellent length. Great sweetness, energy and sap. Extremely transparent and as it airs the texture gets more alluring and silky. Spectacular.

Superb nose of cherry flower, watermelon, earth, licorice and mineral, some dark roses as well. Wafting and just so so good. Wow what an inner mouth burst, complex, juicy and so mineral with wonderful purity and stoney Pommard tannins. Firm, yet elegant and also dense. So so juicy and mouth filling. Concentrated and sappy with terrific sweet fruit. It’s Pommard so it needs time to open up. I’ll be back. So long and juicy.

Nose is lilacs. A hint of bramble perfume. Lovely and quite interesting.
Palate is remarkably silky and elegant. Juicy elegant wild blackberries. You get that acidity. Lovely internal aromatics.
