Nose has melted butter poured over pineapple, light-wet oak notes, white peach, sun warmed flint, lemon candy and a honey drizzle on over-ripe pear slices.
Palate has ripe pineapple, clementine zest, lightly oxidized yellow apple peel, lemon pith, sweet-woody notes, strong yet not unbalanced acidity and a long finish.
This bottle is in a very nice spot this evening, but honestly, we should given this a few more years. Yet today, it is overly generous on the nose, one of those wines you could just smell all night and be completely satisfied by not tasting a drop! Never pass on the Village-level bottles from top-tier producers, this is where value is always delivered.
Cork pulled ~6h prior, to allow for a slow ox in a cool cellar space, this was the right move.

Apr 19th, 2020I had this years ago at Terranea and gave it a 9.7. After years of learning and drinking(!) I cannot rate it that high. Nevertheless it is quite good. However, Jennifer did not like it.
