Domaine du Pegau
Chateau Pegau Côtes-Du-Rhône Blanc White Rhone Blend
Med to full bodied, Medium acidity, touch of minerality and a nice round finish. Should play well with fans of chablis, Chenin Blanc, vouvray, etc

Sep 21st, 2014Another outstanding vintage of Pegau’s LONE Côtes du Rhône white. Blend of Clairette (40%), Bourboulenc (30%), Grenache Blanc (20%) and Ugni Blanc (10%). Silvery/Golden color. Forward aromas and flavors of minerals, chalk, white flowers, grassy herbs and green apples. Not overly fruit forward but intense, fresh tasting, driven and pleasantly funky. Full bodied with no evidence (unless very neutral) of oak aging. Beautiful texture and mouthfeel. I think this wine often gets overshadowed by the white Chateneuf du Pape blends from neighboring villages. Exceptional value. Simply terrific!

Jan 17th, 2024Chateau Pegau (love this producer) Lone Cote du Rhône White is an interesting blend of Clairette (40%), Borboulanc (30%), Grenache Blanc (20%) and Ugni Blanc (10%). Aromas and flavors of white peach, pears, apple and lemon. Additional notes of minerals, white flowers and herbs. Straw gold color, medium body and refreshing. A bit of a creamy texture but no sign of oak. Long and lingering finish. Excellent!
