Bandol Mourvedre Blend

Wine 2 of the Daube Provençal dinner. So much character. So minerally and iodine on the nose, dark blackberry extract fruit too. Rich and clingy in the mouth but with nice acidity and the tannins there but not obtrusive. Nice!

Getting the Bandol back together

Earthy and spicy, leather and acid. Needs a few years, but I love mourvedre in all forms.

Dark purple with a tinge of tawny. Nose of dried herbs, fresh tobacco, crushed blackberries, and a touch of vanilla. Black currants on the palate, with a kick of spice, vanilla, and lightly cured tobacco. Medium + acidity, medium tannins that are firm but matured. Finishes on oak, with dried lavender notes, and blackberry jam.

Great little wine from this producer..BlackBerry..plum..black licorice.. .charred meat on the nose. Tastes of BlackBerry...plum...tar and earth. Funky wine ..nice acidity.. medium+ tannins..great long finish!

Light fruit and bramble on the initial taste. Dry, black raspberry, leather, spice and jam on the follow through. This is a really solid bottle.
