Funk on opening quickly blew off revealing some leathery and gamey notes, along with some blood, garrigue and black fruit. Tannins still present but nearly resolved, decent acid but something was missing that I just couldn't put my finger on. I'd say this is at or just past peak. Enjoyable but not terribly remarkable.
