CLB! Always a sure thing. It’s consistently distinctive with soaring aromatics, piercing fruit purity and an elegant, balanced and vibrant palate. 2014 CGV continues to require a bit more air than its year older sibling, 2013, which is an easy pnp, but it comes around to show what a special Monopole it is. NSG with Vosne flair. Delicious.

Always such a thrill to drink CLB. It’s consistently distinctive with stunning aromatics, piercing fruit purity and an elegant, balanced and vibrant palate. 2014 took a little more coercing than 2013, but it comes around to show what a special plot it is. NSG with Vosne flair. Always a treat.

Showing just as beautifully as the bottle I had a few months ago, popped and poured without decant and its aromatics immediately jump from the glass. It’s deep, intense and structured but at the same time it is so elegant and finessed. I remember thinking with the last bottle, and again here, that there is a “wildness” to this Monopole that makes it so intriguing. Really a lovely bottle that’s in a perfect place. Always a treat drinking CLB.

Clos des Grandes Vignes is a stunning Monopole. Its gorgeous aromatics leap from the glass. Aromatics that are so signature of CLB. It’s always such a treat to recognize. It’s deep, intense and structured but has such elegance and transparency to it at the same time, and it just caresses your palate with every sip. There’s also an alluring wildness to this wine that I find so intriguing. No decant needed, opens up in the glass and couldn’t be more rewarding both on the nose and the palate. Beautiful wine.

Rich, sappy with good lift & mid palate that can be opened now. Notes of dark cherry, raspberry fruits, crushed rock, game, tobacco & violet.
