Clos des vignes du Maynes Manganite Mâcon-Cruzille Gamay

There are a lot positive reviews on this one, but the bottle we opened was volatile as hell and extremely moused from the start. It was impossible to drink it. Will revisit this cuvée in the future to see if we had a bad bottle.

I love this producer. Not as good as the 910 that he makes, but still pretty damn good. Great representation of gamay

Depth of flavor but no heaviness, complex and layered, red and black fruit

5 years on and its structural fine w the exception of a metallic nose but floral herbal and still lively on palate

Took about an hour and a half before it turned mousey and before that it was perfect.

2012, Clos des Vignes du Maynes,,, Macon Cruzille, Manganite, Gamay. Tart red fruit, spice, acid and a slight amount of CO2. Clean and refreshing expression of Gamay. Good wine from one of my favorite producers.

I was told this might read as too young. It didn't.
