Doesn’t have the depth or persistence of his other crus in the vintage, but this is a bright, refreshing, menthol-cherry fruited, tasty number all the same. Needs food to soften its cut.

For me, this is a wine you could confidently pull out for lunch when friends are on their way. This one is red plum and blueberry tamed with a dusty leatheriness that grounds but also gives a soul that could stand up to many dishes. My mind goes to pastry though... Chicken pot pie?

Generous, laden with black raspberry candy, pastille, lavender, blood orange, warm spices, struck rocks, slightly savory and animal. Love how structured this is, persistent and incredibly fine tannin, bursting with Gamay acidity.

Love the dark side of Beaujolais that Moulin A Vent shows. This vintage consistent with my check list, but a little more ready and approachable in its youth as the 15 Beaujolais vintage has shown. Also I just love this producer such a nice guy it makes a big difference to drink wine from someone you respect or admire

Wonderfully enigmatic wine- charming and brooding. Brun makes some of my favorite wines in Beaujolais and the Moulin-à-Vent is perhaps the best and most complex of the line. Powerful floral aromatics- roses and lavender- crunchy red berries and juicy acidity. There’s a hint of smoke, crushed rocks and Brett that enhances the Old World charm. Gorgeous fruit- sweet raspberries, ripe stone fruit. This has a lot going on. Very pretty.

Strawberry, blueberry, and ripe cherry, almost verging on stewy. A slightly funky animal aroma, dry dusty earth and dried herbs, some spicy camphor wood (just acquired a fragrant camphor chest so the aroma is at the fore of my mind) . Medium velvety tannins, medium+ acid that is persistent but not very angular. Medium full body and medium long finish.
