Domaine Des Perelles
Moulin-à-Vent Gamay

Light, dry and smooth red. Red cherries, cloves and plum. Very relaxing.

a gamay, second type: darker, more intense, more structured, while remaining a fruity and casual. frank attack, black fruits on the nose and on the palate: candied cherries, ripe, plums, very supple but expressive tannins. a precise and silky palate, which suggests that this wine will give a sophisticated development with two, three years in cellar. a generous wine for amateurs and neophytes

The wine is atypical in that one does not expect rusticity to be a feature of Cru B. But glide your way past this stylistic difference (perhaps the fruit is simply on the downside) while coughing up no more than $12 you'll be OK. Asking anything more from this wine will only disappoint.

I’m never too sure why so much hand wringing takes place when deciding what red to serve with the Thanksgiving meal. Cut to the chase: Gamay is a no brainer, and this Moulin À Vent will placate any persnickety family member who insists on American Zinfandel being the only choice. Give this delicious red a slight chill with a thirty minute decant. HappyThanksgiving all, and God Bless America. 🦃🇺🇸🦃
