2019 vintage. Amazing old vine Carignan (80%) and Grenache blend from the Cévennes, harvested overripe according to the website. However it is not at all overly jammy. Dark red with purplish rim. Intense perfume of Amarena cherries, blackberries and a hint of thyme. Full-bodied with sweet ripe black fruit, good acidity and a long spicy finish. In my experience Carignan needs old vines to become special and this would be a good example. Great value at 22 euro.
