Les Folatières Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay

An interesting wine. Apple, wet stone, lightly oily and fresh. Rounded and lively

Ripe/tart, overall creamy lemon/lime and apples....

Much less advanced than the 2010 I tried early last year. Round and rich with plenty of backbone. Tough not to swoon over.

Stored incorrectly.

06 Les Pucelles. Slightly oxi but very attractive. Popcorn, caramel and fried pineapple. Immensely drinkable and still possessing acid and focus on the palate. I like this wine a lot but I don't think it's for everyone.

The color was a little advanced but no sign of premox. Big and rich but plenty of acid and mineral to back it up. Not as electric as the Caillerets, but still pretty awesome stuff.

Grand vin, mûr, racé, bel élevage, élégant, plaisant, accessible, joyeux, salin : miam

Fatter/riper/buttery-er than Cailleret

Notes from La Paulee 2023 in NYC. Crushed minerality, med+ finish, white apricot, white apple, very faint notes of oak influence. Med acidity, med+ finish.

Note this is premier cru. Nice fruit splashing upward anchoring wonderful acidity across the entire palette
