Les Champeaux Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Pinot Noir

The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Champeaux 1er Cru has a superior bouquet: wonderful delineation, control and mineralité, sophisticated and charming. The palate is medium-bodied with finely spun tannins, a taut line of acidity (this feels like the pH is lower than its peers) that imparts tension throughout. Sapid with raspberry, strawberry, black pepper and sous-bois on the finish, this is an excellent Premier Cru from Mortet. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2024)

2011: big step up in quality from the village. Not shy on the wood but nobel.

Young but so good with its explosive dark fruits, spice & mineral

Beautiful wine! It has nothing to do with Pinot Noir. Extraction, round, sweet and powerful. We all thought a Bordeaux after smelling the wine.

Beautifully balanced with rich dark fruits, savory spice & mineral.

This had a velvety & creamy texture that coats the palate with rich sappy red fruits, sweet spices, mineral & floral notes. Lovely stuff.
