Before L'Autre, before Noir there was simply the Rhône Reserve. The Grenache based blend that started Terre Rouge when I was just a kid. First vintage with the etching label, I think? Still a beauty with great fruit and an iron-laced finish.

Nov 23rd, 2017Medium ruby, leaning towards garnet for appearnace. On the nose, there is a very pronounced aromas of red fruits, smoke, oak, tobacco, caramel. The body is medium, the palate had a medium tannin with a long finish. Acidity is high, tannins are high. At first you senses are overwhelmed with tastes of pepper, clove, tobacco, toasted oak. Then the finish smoothes out and becomes a very tame cherry, black berry, blue berry and mushroom and forest floor. The wine is very balanced and shows beautiful bottle age in the tasting. An outstanding wine.
