One of the better decisions I've ever made was buying a mixed case of 2007 Côtes du Rhône and forgetting about them. They're like a preview of what the best Chateauneufs from that historic vintage will look like decades from now. This one is all prune and black pepper, but fresh, with some secondary Herbes de Provence that seals the deal.

A pick from my local store this is a nice find. Fruit forward but with the rusticity and earthiness I enjoy around the edges. At $15 not racing to get a case but I'd be happy to see this bottle again
