In Magnum and sleepy mode. This bottle has yet evolved so it feels like bit stuck and muddy right now. Pretty certain wine will drop some fine sediments and be a beaut!

Mar 4th, 2018An amazing DRC dinner tonight with 10 vintages each of the RSV vs Richebourg 1993- 2010
All flights were served blind where we knew the vintage but needed to determine which was the RSV & RB which turned out to be a very humbling experience. Most of the group who consisted of experienced tasters including the generous & longtime collector who supplied the wines that were purchased on release from his cellar seemed to get half of the wines wrong on every flight. Before the tasting my experience & expectations would be to like the RSV more for its elegant, silky texture, generous red fruits, soaring spices & floral tones vs the RB where it would be richer, more powerful & would need more time to open & shed its muscular structure. Tonight I actually found myself favoring the RB’s more than RSV’s where I also guessed wrong thinking the RB was the RSV in half of the flights. :)
