Coume Marie La Préceptoire Côtes du Roussillon Grenache Gris

Second take on this wine in a different vintage. Very intensively aromatic nose with pear juice, yellow apple, juicy white peach, honey, honeysuckle and a teeny tiny strawberry touch. The palate is broad and showing a very soft, silky mouthfeel, nice peachy and peary notes along with a touch of honey. There is a bit of grip in the rear, a finish with these juicy white fruits and a bit of grip too, it could be a phenolic, tannic thing that is adding a layer of complexity and makes it a great companion to a few oysters (despite a low acid drive) and white fish (hake)cooked on the pan. Delish!

No notes tonight. We are having dinner in a nice restaurant in a Canet en Roussillon in front on the sea. Very mineral nose with flinty and chalky touches. The palate is wonderful, expanding all along and finishing in a peacock tail of fruit, pear, peach, lemon zest, some nice thickness, some grip. Wow. Superb wine !
