Domaine de la Jaufrette
Côtes du Rhone Red Rhone Blend
Love the backbone of earthy minerality this vintage shows. Dusty/gravelly notes throughout, framed by licorice and leathery fruit and garrigue. Always love these wines!

May 11th, 2020Structured with firm tannins and a full presence on the palate. Stewed/roasted black fruit, leather, licorice, wilted violet, coffee, roasted herbs, coffee bean. Bittersweet combo with the deep fruit and pleasant astringency of the tannin. Rustic, dusty, and a little dirty. I love these wines

Mar 23rd, 2017Lots of complexity on the nose and more forward on the palate. Remember the 08 having more length and mid palate but less brightness. Spices, wet leather, ash, roasted black and red fruits moving towards dried, garrigue, baked earth.

Oct 31st, 20152012 (which is their current release in 2019!). Bramble berries, licorice, pepper, gravel, garrigue, cinnamon. Bright, ripe strawberry and blackberry with spice and medium minus acidity and slightly course medium tannin on the palate. Holds the alcohol so well; hard to believe this is 15%. Ripe, but still retaining structure and spice. Just about the perfect wine with slow cooked lamb shank.
