Vieilles Vignes St. Joseph Syrah

Been a quick minute since I’ve had this one. Lovely nose of red berries and blackberries. Very precise. Loads of mineral granite crunch. Love 2014. Juicy and vibrant with great precision and terrific acidity. Good core of concentrated black and red fruits. Such purity. Very long and elegant. Can and will age 10+ years. Peppery finish as well.

Nice nose of white pepper, game, gravy, earth, dark berry fruit, some redder fruits, juicy, dense and concentrated palate with lively acidity and terrific depth and precision. Very pure and excellent length. Nice ripe sweet tannin. Always a great value.

Terrific. Silky, elegant, stanky, floral, licorice. Delicious.

A very good vintage of this wine. Will get lost behind '15 and after '13, but I think it's a really well made wine. Nose is complex spice and raspberry/licorice fruit. Also floral after some air. Really pungent aromas. Almost like a lipstick intensity. Super pure, complex and with really nice acids. A bit out of balance right out of the gates, but within 45 minutes this is in a nice place. Terrific silky and deep tannins. Long, persistent finish. Very pure. My score will rise even higher as this gets its just air.

Lovely yellows, very focused, good piney peppery finish. Complex and slightly buttery. Drinking beautifully with sautéed sole. $26 Fass selections, 2016. Yumbo, bitches.
