Gamay, Beaujolais, France - Red Burgundy, DuBoeuf Morgon, Domaine de la Chaponne, 2009 - Dark brooding core with lovely purple rim. Fresh, sweet red fruity nose with some mint and thyme. Tight, a bit edgy with a tannic bite. Palate is not as expressive the nose - red fruits, more woody herbs, and a touch of wood and pepper. Needs a bit more bottle age before it starts to sing!
