Nothing like a beef daube and a Bandol on a kind of raw night! This is my kind of Bandol, too. Not overextracted nor too tannic. Hitting the sweet spot, probably with a decent percentage of Grenache for friendliness. Nose has some tree bark, spiced dark berries, roasted herbs, and crushed rock. On the palate, you know it’s Mourvèdre but there lots of dark fruit to balance the tannins, and loads of interesting savory notes. Chewy finish but not overdone. Very nice
