Opened with no expectations having never heard of Nielluccio (France’s name for Sangiovese). The wine is singing. It has a ruby brick hue from some age in bottle. The fruits are mature with soft black plum and dried berries with lots of lavender and rosemary. There is a drapery of cool smoke and pine. Silky smooth velvety palette with an underpinning of minerals. A darker profile for France’s take on Chianti.

Красная слива, мятая черника, вареная свёкла, отголоски клубники, специи, кремень, графит, туф, соль, лёгкий жар на финише. Средне-лёгкое тело, сбалансированная кислотность, еще моложавые танины. Концентрированно и компактно, но не тяжело, слегка рустично, без особой комплексности, минерально, с хорошей внутренней энергией и честной выразительностью. Лучше чувствует себя с едой, но вполне самодостаточно и без неё.

Yum! Tasted like a cab franc/chinon to me. Little vegetal funk, light to medium bodied. Pairs well with an array of foods and also drinks nicely on its own.
