Crozes-Hermitage AOC Syrah

Lovely nose. Developed some since last time. Tar, tobacco, mineral, granite, red berry fruit, lipstick, nice aromas. Integrated. Palate is juicy and ripe with terrific freshness and acidity. Nice clarity and length. Velvety tannins. Peppery finish. Terrific.

Nose is midway between extrovert and introvert. It gives up nice scents of crushed granite and warm sandstone overlaying fresh deep blackberry fruit. An iron-y note as well. Medium-bodied and very fresh, with lean, minerally, clingy flavors and nice acids. Very together.

A great vintage for this wine. Smokey BBQ sauce, floral, raspberry, gamey, olives. Palate is soft and juicy with tangy freshness from the berry fruit and nice velvet tannins. Terrific freshness and acidity. Such juicy and vivid fruit with a nice granitic and mineral bite. Terrific.

One of the best Crozes's I've ever had. Lots going on in the nose. Freshly-split rocks, smoky beef jerky, brambly, spicy blackberries. Mouthfilling and plush. Each molecule of dark blackberry fruit seemingly is accompanied by a molecule of smoky, stony minerality. Nice acids and a lengthy finish. Great value at around $20.

I just love this wine. It acts like a Crozes that just chugged 4 Red Bulls. Energetic nose of artisanal beef jerky, cracked peppercorns, and intense cracked granite minerality. So mineral in the mouth, with some blackberry fruit behind it and some pink grapefruit rind. Lively and intense, but chiseled.

Love this wine. So delicious. Bacon, flowers, granite, leather and dark red berries on the nose. Really aromatic and soft nose. Elegant and fresh palate with beautiful and wonderfully fresh fruit and some light chalky tannins on the very peppery finish. Needs a few hours to flesh out but what a great value. Terrific showing for this tonight.

Blizzard Crozes. Lovely, ethereal nose of violets, bacon, olive tapenade, incense and deep blackberry fruit. Classic. Well proportioned aromas. Palate needs a bit to flesh out as is typical with this wine but a nice granite core with deep blackberry fruit and black licorice. Terrific purity and freshness. Will open up more i'm sure. What a value.

Huge nose of raspberry, bacon, violets. Very deep. Impressive. Smokey, bacon palate with tremendous freshness and pure, and very ripe fruit. Excellent powdery tannins.

Very juicy, grapey nose. Killer. Very nice. Elegant.
