Drank over two days. Closed up to start and also very loyal to this producer’s style who picks very late. Powerful bodied and extracted but opens up with dark fruit, some spices, structure and powerful tannins that start to soften up. A nice bottle, but now very expensive for what it delivers and a style I now appreciate less and less. 89-90

One of the most acute and piercing bottles of burgundy I have ever had. I can't even imagine what's going to uncoil from this. Right now it is not suggesting much. It is heavy and muscular, with a tannic build almost as boxy foursquare as cabernet. It has just a touch of cedary oak but otherwise the flavors are much heavier on stone and metal shavings than the more customary Vosne spice. Fruit? Not a factor until the leftovers the next day. This is serious, tough, challenging and will need a long time to unwind - classic Confuron style but not for drinking today.
