The 2013 Musigny Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru has a pronounced, minty bouquet with plenty of fruit. However, it lacks the bandwidth of a truly great Musigny from de Vogüé. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, briny with black olives infusing the black fruits, linear and structured toward the finish. Fine, but very serious. Like an old schoolmate who you've never heard crack a joke. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2023)

Oct 19th, 2023Bright cherries and raspberries with an undertone of cream. Most candied aroma of them all and layers one after another. Perhaps it was the vintage that threw me way of but it reminded me of certain characteristics found in carbonic maceration - style I immediately associated with Morgon Cote du Py Foillard (I know what you're all thinking). In retrospect, this was too pretty and lacked any funkiness one might find in its neighbors down south. Similar to the 2007 and 2014 Musigny I've tasted, wine is very smooth and almost effortless on the mouth.
