First wine back after a nasty flu. Nose is grapey, spicey and very deep. Love the gout de terroir here. Cranberry bog and just ripe blackberries. Really punchy aromas. Palate is juicy and clean but seems closed a bit as the finish is chipped. But very fresh and pure. Let’s see if it fleshes out. Juicy, sapid and nimble with very chalky tannins. Picks up some finesse as it airs but still remains charmingly rustic.

Jan 21st, 2025Nose is very grapey and has tremendous spice. Unreal gorgeous cherry fruit and a bit of confectionary aromas. Background of intense minerality and florals. Very expansive nose. Juicy and vibrant palate with great freshness and mid to late season cherry fruit and very mineral inflected tannins. Limestone wash on the finish. Tremendous effort. Great freshness and energy and a bit of rusticity. 9.2 to 9.4 overnight. Gained so much more depth and finesse and was scary silky. This is an outrageous value. The rusticity cleaned up overnight and it was all class on day 2.
