Domaine Chamonard
Le Clos de Lys Morgon Gamay
Intense, crushed berry, meaty, grapey nose.
Not quite clean but not off putting. Palate is intense, almost fatiguing at this point, with red fruit, meat, and a dank, cave like quality, with a thick, soupy texture. Bracing acids give structure to the finish. This is quite different and complex, but not clean. Other loved it, I had trouble with the second glass. This is a hold, for softening and unraveling.

Fruit is very ripe and grapey with a faint perception of sweetness, some anise and spices and bubble gum.
Ripeness and carbonic quality more than terroir at this point. Plus a long meaty amino finish- some funky microbial thing going on.
Day three and this is all broth. Not super appealing. Not at the top of my list for this price point.

complex beaujolais - crushed berries, tobacco, spice - it’s not completely filtered, which i appreciate. i’d pair with a ribeye
