Wow. Never expected an 88 gigondas to be this lively and round. Called it a 02 Cote Rotie. Blood and meat with a floral and saline finish.

Lovely older Gigondas, some meaty, leathery aromas up front, there is some creamy notes from the new oak barrels this was aged in, still remarkably youthful, good balancing acidity, I’m just not a fan of what the new oak does to the Grenache fruit.
