2015 vintage. Goulaine is the northernmost of the 7 Muscadet de Sèvre et Maine subzones (considered the highest quality crus). Gneiss and schist soils. This beauty was aged for more than 18 months on the lees. Brillant pale yellow. Intensely perfumed, an intriguing mix of flowers, grapefruit and saffron, combined with a distinctive minerality. Crisp and intense taste with mouth-watering bright citrus fruit, a distinctive saffron-like touch and that typical Muscadet saltiness in the long finish. Incredible value at 19 euro. Note also that these wines (always 100 % Melon de Bourgogne) can age beautifully.

Almost heavy for how dry it is.
