Oct 13th, 2019On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our guest conductor David Newman is leading a live-to-picture performance of Leonard Bernstein’s score for “West Side Story”, originally directed by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins, and with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.
For live-to-picture productions, the orchestra performs the entire movie score in real time as the film unspools. (Vocals, dialogue and effects are isolated from the original music track.) The BSO installed very fancy and large LED screens on the perimeter of the Shed facing the Lawn, amazing!
Middle of the road Brouilly... Minor cooked cherry/raspberry notes, maybe needing lots of air, if so notes will be updated.
We believed the bottle was off, there had been some minor seepage around the cork, noted upon its extraction.

Light ruby color. Big cherry aroma with a bit of strawberry/raspberry and nutmeg. On the bud, it’s mostly tart cherry and smooth with a long finish.

Balance was off. Even after letting it breathe for well over an hour and sampling at different intervals throughout, it came off sour and heat tarnished.
