Good value at Costco. Needs to breathe. Far better on day three than day one or even day two. Those lovely CdP flavors come out with coaxing time: tiny hit of licorice, red fruits, brambles, tiny pepper, some minerals. Not oaky. Definitely worth another try at this price. Maybe wait a few years?

This paired well with the crab, but better with roasted cauliflower that had been topped with a citrusy olive tapenade. The acid in the latter mellowed the dryness of the wine. As always: better at about 60 degrees f than 40 degrees f.
