I’ll be honest: I enjoyed this slightly less than the Domaine Coquard, above. But I don’t know if that’s a product of it being ‘18, or if it being Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet. It’s still a marvelously well-constructed wine, it’s just tart and tight. For better or worse, my favorite burgundy flavors are the secondary ones — the leather and game you get in older wines.
