Flash tasting; no formal notes. The 2020 Clos de Vougeot is deeper ruby than the 1er CdlP’s and even exhibits some light staining. Red fruited with cherry and strawberry. Some lavish use of oak. Hefty structure. Painfully young. Powerful-ish and needs time. This will be a little more fun to drink after 2030.

Ok. Sound wine, somewhat stylized and clinical, flashy cooperage, uninteresting in some ways. It’s richness and oak profile made for a solid Xmas wine.
