Gorgeous aromas of plantains, granite, yellow fruits, vanilla extract and some interesting herbals. Smells very expressive and fresh. Palate is so elegant, tangy showing the class and fresh aspects of the 21 white rhone vintage. Long. Impressively long and palate staining. Nose starts to get floral and is so high toned. This is bright for this wine. Palate is just slathered in minerals and has great acid and terrific grip. So juicy and elegant. Dynamite.

Jun 17th, 2023Dinner white. More notes lates but another HR version of this cuvee from Gripa. Gorgeous expressive nose of wet earth, granite, gras, spice and lovely tropical fruits. Palate is rich yet super fresh from the granite and has very good acidity. Juicy and luscious with perfect balance and elite finesse. .

Apr 15th, 2023An astonishing wine as usual. Nose is honeycomb, granite, yellow fruits and gras. So airy as well. Like ocean breeze. A stunning nose. It’s so subtle but it’s impactful. Palate is juicy and fresh with icing on the cake like texture and slabs of iced granite stay on your tongue long after it’s been swallowed. Stunning purity, depth and sap. Amazing length.

Mar 17th, 2023Reeeeeediculous. 14 and 16 are both similar and brilliant white Rhone vintages. High on the acid and low on the gras. Preposterous nose. Just superb complexity. Lanolin, herbs, granite, minerals. Really wide. Wow, insane palate. This was a barn burner when young and then closed beyond anything and now is wide open. Unreal palate. So delineated and pure. So clean and complex. Juicy, yet chewy and super engaging. Wow this is awesome. Nose is heaven. Sick. Best bottle of Figuiers I’ve ever had. So racy, so concentrated and dare I say Rieslingesque? Amazing finish. So linear. Preposterously great.

Aug 23rd, 2021Such a great St. Peray aka white Cornas. Nose of yellow fruits, waxiness, mineral, elite minerality. Rich, decadent, ripe, custardy, opulent and floats like a cloud. Super elite wine here. So fresh from good acid but better minerality. So long and balanced. Awesome length.

Palate is juicy and explosive with tremendous freshness and energy. So so pure and delicate with top top finesse. I love white rhone. Long, delineated finish. So so long. Wow. Amazing texture. This is brilliant!

Mar 10th, 2020This was insanely closed on day 1 that is was hard to choke down. But on day 3, this has done a 180 and is glorious with stunning exotic fruits, a clear defined structure, lovely crunchiness and purity with amazing length and an ocean based minerality. When white Rhone closes it is not having it is the lesson here. Basically if you can’t handle me at my worst, you don’t deserve me at my best.

Color is very intriguing, probably the lightest pale yellow I've ever seen.
Nose has dried citrus, dried fruits and a touch of alcohol.
Palate is clean and floral; white flowers, honey, touch of beeswax maybe, light oak influence.
70% Roussanne & 30% Marsanne
I think this is mostly closed for business, we'll revisit tomorrow and the rest in like a 5-8 years.
24hr Update: Slight improvement, honey with minor lemon skin notes.
