Les Granges Chinon Cabernet Franc

Very disappointed. Far too much cherry and tart berry. One dimensional and pandering. This winery's other cab francs are far superior.

Precise youthful franc character throughout. Yummy and quaffable. Love it.

Arrived at Saumur today, a bit later in the evening than planned. Just went out to grab a simple plat du jour at the pizzaria in our street. Wasn't planning on ordering wine but couldn't leave this demi-bouteille of Bernard Baudry, one of the classic (bio) producers in Chinon, unopened. Perfect wine for a low-key monday evening.

Utterly quaffable.

Soft, bracing take on Cab Franc. Stemmy, bright cranberry notes.

Needs 6+ months bare minimum.

Good. Hard and angular, with the cold notes of cab franc but too much Brett.

Earthy, leathery fruit and still a little tight, with ample tannin and acid, it cries out for food at this point.
