Domaine Berlancourt
Cuvée Les Champans Bourgogne Pinot Noir Rosé
A slightly better bottle than our prior '17...quite looking ahead to the '18 which I am picking up in a couple weeks and hope to be posting on in early '21.
'17 is still a fine bottle of rosé, no disappointing.

Nose has dried strawberry, dry-crushed granite, rose and cut tangerine.
Palate is under-ripe strawberry, dried tangerine peel, wet minerals with a medium length finish, decent acidity.
Not the same as the 2016, seems lesser or closed up a little. Still a few bottles in the cellar, we'll power through them before the end of Summer.

Love these with a little age. Nose is gorgeous with mid season cherry fruit, cherry skin and cherry pulp blended so perfectly together. Huge ebullient minerals waft from the glass from its shimmering light salmon color. Some light herbals as well. Just fantastic aromas. 9.4/9.5. Palate is so juicy and so energetic with super engaging sweet and delicate cherry fruit. Just so pure and so balanced. Amazing length and finesse. This is top rose and I think most rose sucks. Terrific concentration and sap. Wonderful wine for this spring day.

1 person found it helpfulMar 18th, 2022Super fragrant. Loads of cracked stone, pungent florals, and dried strawberry. I fear, however, that I should have drunk this last year, as an oxidative note is creeping in. In the mouth, it’s an explosion of tangy fruit. Only a hint of oxidation on the palate. Great acids. Wish I hand caught it at its apogee.
