Typical Savennieres silkiness unfortunately covered up by a lot of bitter phenolics... too much in my opinion especially for a nightcap. Bruised apple and hints of smoke within a M++ acid, M- body wine. Youthful yet but again that sinewy texture and bitterness - I wonder about the quality of this vintage as I don't know 1992 Loire

Second bottle of '92 showing much better so bumping this up. Really struck by how much it tastes of the funky bouquet of blackstrap molasses. Also a bit of resiny texture. Fruit is in good shape and still has a decent amount of acidity. Paired equally well with cumin tomato soup and tomato zucchini spaghetti

Jul 7th, 2016This aged Chenin is kind of crazy, reserved fruit underneath umami with a blanket of petrol. Took a bit for the moldy bouquet to blow off. Extra nerdly. 1992 vintage, perhaps it is towards down the downside of its plateau.
