Another stunning Chambertin from the Burgundy dinner in Sydney 6 weeks ago. An absolutely gorgeous nose. Interestingly 100% new oak but the powerful fruit just swallows it. A little Animale/Feral note which adds interest. The medium plus bodied palate shows a savoury and sinewy texture. This has got the lot and still with a long window up to the early 2040s. Surpassed the 2002 in my book.

Sep 25th, 2025Still catching up with the wine from the Burgundy dinner in Sydney 6 weeks ago. From vines 45 to 60 years old and an excellent vintage for Burgundy. Only 10 to 15% whole bunch which I found interesting - such is the power of the fruit. Some Sous Bois in evidence despite the low % of whole bunch. From my sketchy notes on the night, one word stood out “BRILLIANT “

Sep 25th, 2025A glorious nose. Kaleidoscopic fruit with bright cherry, violets, lifted wild strawberry. So much going on and sooo pretty. Very pure and defined on the palate. Still quite contained. I suspect this will be spectacular in a few more heard but truly delicious now. Pure class.

Tawny color, translucent and light in the glass. A killer nose if there ever was one. Notes of cherries, tan spice, rhubarb, dark soil and sandalwood. Has "the funk". In the mouth it's so rich and silky. Very refined. Killer juice.
