Spearmint, licorice, fresh cherry, sour cherry, tart raspberry, crushed stone. Acacia, and rose. Tomato. Stems. Elevated grippy tannins. Elevated acidity. Medium+ finish.

This was a pretty subtle cab franc from the Loire Valley — I could have mistaken it for pinot noir. Red fruit, medium acid, low tannin — pretty middle of the road/balanced, as opposed to bell pepper or herbal notes. Good price, would drink again. $42.

Great balanced wine. Light at first but develops. Similar to a Pinot, but maintains the flair of a Cab Franc for those that linger.
